Due to the limited storage space of computer drawings, the way of deleting the front from the back of the drawing is often used, and the history is not preserved. At present, although there are nearly 20000 drawings in the computer, almost none of them correspond to the sulfuric acid paper base map of the base map library (i.e. the effective drawings used in production) one by one. Due to the lack of unified and effective management, computer drawings are stored at will, numbered irregularly, and with the change of designers and the different division of labor, The low value of reuse has caused a great waste of resources, and the implementation of computer drawing management is imminent

based on the existing business process of the commercial vehicle R & D center, we introduced Windchill system, a PDM product of PTC company in the United States. Redefined the drawing review and signature process of the R & D center, and completely solved the problem of inconsistency between the computer base map and the sulfuric acid paper base map by using the electronic review and signature function of Windchill system, and changed the design method of designers centered on the base map to make it centered on three-dimensional model design. Windchill system is an enterprise level PDM product, which has its own progressiveness in product collaborative development, document management, business process management and other aspects. Specific to the practical application of the commercial vehicle R & D center, it makes full use of the functional modules in Windchill system, such as pro/e, UG, CATIA design data access (including Intralink gateway, workgroup manager for UG, CATIA packaging), product data visualization, approval process management, version management, product adoption and release notice management. In the process of implementing the management of effective drawings, by defining the review and signing process, it is ensured that the drawings and notices reviewed and signed by Windchill are effective
