Schulman acquired citadel, a special plastic company, with us $800million
A. Schulman, an American plastic and resin supplier, announced on March 16 that it had agreed to acquire citadel plastics, an American special plastic manufacturer, for us $800million. The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2015
citadel has an annual revenue of US $525million, 21 production bases and 1200 employees, including 17 factories in North America. The company was founded by wind point partners, a Chicago private equity firm, in 2007. After its establishment, it made several acquisitions and was later transferred to hggc, a California private equity firm, in 2012
Shulman solved a serious problem hindering the recycling of plastics in fiscal year 2014, and the sales volume increased by nearly 15%, exceeding US $2.4 billion for shafts, feeding shafts and dispensing agencies. Profits almost doubled to nearly $57million. It is expected that this transaction will help improve its profitability in the first year after completion, and may contribute up to $25million in revenue within 18 months
this is the 11th acquisition completed by Shulman in less than 6 years.
